Abstracts

Even though the overall theme of Research Service Days 2023 is Operating in a changing world, proposals on presentations and workshops on any aspect of research support services and administration are included in the program.

Conference dates

• Monday 21.8.
  Network meetings (free of charge)
• Tuesday 22.8.
  Opening and sessions (oral presentations & workshops)
• Wednesday 23.8.
  Sessions (oral presentations & workshops)

Guidelines for proposal submission

By default, the timeslot allocated for an oral presentation and discussion is 30 minutes. If you feel that the topic of your proposal requires more time, you may propose a 60-minute presentation. Timeslots reserved for workshops vary between 30-90 minutes.

Please note that all participants, including the speakers, are required to register separately for the conference and pay the participation fee.

Technical guidelines for abstract submission

Structure of the Abstract:

• Title and possible subheading
• Abstract (max. 2000 characters – will be published in the conference programme)
• Select from one or several of the following themes: Pre-Award, Post-Award, Legal, Innovation, Open science & open access, Network and ecosystem activities, Responsible research assessment or Other.
• Language: Finnish / English / both are possible

Presentation format:

• Oral presentation (including presentation and discussion/Q&A)
• Workshop

Presentation time: 30 min / 60 min
Workshop time: 30 min / 60 min / 90 min

Level of experience assumed from the audience: Introductory / Intermediate / Experienced

Evalution criteria

1. Clarity of the abstract
2. Timeliness and relevance
3. Compatibility of the presentation topic and format

Timeline

The call for abstracts was closed on 28.04.2023. 

Conference publication

All of the accepted abstracts and other important topics are published as an electronic conference publication.

Network meetings

Monday afternoon, August 21, 2023 is reserved for meetings of working groups and networks such as those operating under Finn-ARMA or other. While the actual Research Service Days on August 22-23 have an entrance fee, the meetings on August 21 are free of charge. Use this form if you would like to organise a meeting for your network. You will be provided with a meeting room, and you can choose whether to arrange remote participation or not.

We hope to receive your networking time slot reservations by 30.06., but will accept reservations all over the summer till 31.07.2023 or as long as we have meeting room space capacity on a “first come, first served” basis.
