Course Design (5 ECTS)

About this course

During this training, you can work on one of your existing courses or plan a completely new course. We will go through different stages of constructive course planning, such as defining learning objectives, selecting the content, and choosing the teaching and assessment methods. We will also discuss e.g., how the course fits into the training program and ponder the impact of course planning on students' learning ability.

In the course you will design a course plan and receive support from other course participants and instructors. The course includes joint meetings, group work and discussion, and individual and small group assignments between the sessions. Participating in the course requires that you are able to attend the meetings. 
 

Intended learning outcomes

After the course, you will be able to:

• Consider the key factors affecting learning and teaching in the planning of your course.
• Examine your pedagogical approach in the planning of your course.
• Plan the intended learning outcomes for your course and choose aligned teaching and assessment methods in relation to the intended learning outcomes.
• Identify relevant assessment and feedback data and utilize the data in the development of your teaching.
• Recognize the connection between programme-level curriculum design and the design of your course.

Prerequisites

A! Peda Intro (5 ECTS) course. If you have taken an equivalent introductory course to pedagogy (5 ECTS) elsewhere or you are a qualified teacher, contact the course teachers. For more information, please also refer to the Frequently Asked Questions.
