‘I enjoy helping people’
For School of Business alum Jukka-Pekka Kokkonen, doing things together is a matter close to his heart. An active networker, he enjoys spending time with other people, which he says has helped in his studies, at work and in his many positions of trust. As a student, Kokkonen was an enthusiastic KY activist and co-founder of KY-SUB, which helps international students integrate into the university community.
Kokkonen graduated with a Master's degree in economics in 2013. He works in the banking sector and is responsible for the product groups of payment fraud prevention and claims management at Nexi Group. 'A degree in business is good currency in the job market.' He is grateful for the lifelong relationships he built during his studies. 'Most of my friends are from Kauppis, KY and other business schools whose students I met through my association activities.'
Kokkonen has worked as a tutor for students and currently participates in Aalto’s mentoring programme. At the beginning of the year, he started as the Chair of the Board of the Finnish Business School Graduates. 'I enjoy helping people. I have received a lot from Kauppis, KY and later from the community of business school graduates, and I also want to give back.'
With his donation to the School of Business, he wants to thank his alma mater. 'I recommend donating to anyone who feels they have received a good foundation for their career and lifelong friends from Kauppis. Even a small donation helps, and if you donate a tax-deductible amount every few years, you yourself will benefit a little as well.'
