Time and space refer to the dates, times during the day, and the physical/online space where teaching and learning happen. They need to be clear and utilitarian in the context of the course content.
Assessment criteria as well as how feedback will be given and by whom needs to be transparent.
Various organizations, communities, and people are likely to be involved, so knowing who they are and what roles they play is substantial.
There are numerous ways to use the cards - purpose and point of view is always up to you! Some use case examples would be: designing a new course, integrating challenge-based learning elements to an existing course, evaluating an existing programme, finding new ways for evaluation, experimenting with new ideas...
This card deck includes six categories, each consisting of six elements (cards). All elements are complemented with guiding questions. There are also direct links to existing supportive resources available in the digital platform.
The following ways to use the Teaching Lab Design Kit cards are merely examples and the list is not exhaustive. Use the card deck to gain a new perspective, inspire a team, turn a corner, or try a new approach. Use them any way you can think of!
Pick the most relevant cards for your ideation or development needs. Use the cards as headlines for sorting your thoughts and ideas. List ideas or to do's under each card.
Place the cards on a table. Decide which ones are important to find your actual priorities. If you are a group, you can let everyone pick a card to a priority section.
Decide when to do what by arranging selected cards on a timeline. Your timeline can be a calendar month, academic year, a number of phases, etc.
You can use the cards to evaluate your development progress in different categories of the design kit.
You can use the cards in a Kanban board as development items.
You can use the cards as an inspiration and ideation tool for hackathons or other development events.
