Strategy and Venturing
The Institute of Strategy and Venturing enjoys an international reputation for research and teaching excellence in its core areas.
Our research on strategy includes strategy process research focusing on intra-firm processes, decision-making, cognition, and emotions that influence strategy processes and their outcomes. Our research also focuses on understanding the antecedents and outcomes of strategic activities and activity patterns (e.g., acquisition, alliance, and corporate venturing programs) that firms use in the pursuit of competitive advantage. Our research on venturing focuses on strategic aspects of the development and financing of new ventures (e.g., venture capital and private equity).
Overall, we have a particular focus on the intersection of strategy and venturing in technology-intensive industries, contributing to the understanding of the creation and transformation of technology-based business.
