Aalto-yliopiston väitöskirjapalkinnot
Korkeakoulut myöntävät Aalto-yliopiston väitöskirjapalkintoja seuraavien periaatteiden mukaan:
- Jokainen koulu palkitsee ansiokkaimmat 10% koulussa hyväksytyistä väitöskirjoista.
- Palkintoja myönnetään joka vuosi kalenterivuosittain.
- Yksittäisen palkinnon suuruus on 3000 euroa. (Insinööritieteiden korkeakoulussa 1000 euroa.)
- Palkintojen jaon peruskriteerit ovat akateeminen laatu, vaikuttavuus ja uutuusarvo.
- Palkinnon saajat valitaan niiden tohtoriopiskelijoiden/valmistuneiden tohtorien joukosta, joiden väitöskirja on hyväksytty palkinnonjakovuotta edeltävän kalenterivuoden aikana.
- Palkintopäätöstä tehtäessä otetaan huomioon esitarkastajien ja vastaväittäjien antamat lausunnot.
- Päätöksen tekee korkeakoulun dekaani korkeakoulun tohtorinkoulutusneuvoston esityksestä.
- Palkintojen saajille annetaan Aalto-yliopiston yhteinen väitöskirjapalkinnon kunniakirja.
- Korkeakoulut jakavat palkinnot juhlatilaisuudessa.
Aalto-yliopiston väitöskirjapalkintojen jakoperiaatteet ovat voimassa 1.1.2022 – 31.12.2025 ja koskevat vuosina 2021- 2024 hyväksyttyjä väitöskirjoja. Tämän kauden periaatteita arvioidaan ja mikäli palkitsemista pidetään tarkoituksenmukaisena, päätetään palkitsemisen jatkamisesta
Tavoitteena on kannustaa tohtoriopiskelijoita hyvän tulokseen ja palkita Aalto-yliopiston koulujen tohtoriopiskelijoita yhtenäisten periaatteiden mukaisesti. Näiden palkintojen lisäksi koulut voivat palkita
tohtoriopiskelijoitaan myös muulla tavoin koulun tavoitteiden ja strategian mukaisesti.
